Applying the 002 MT Custom Look to Subsites in Community Portal

The subsequent Master Pages are created for the following Site Types:

  1. 002_MT-Master.master and 002_MT-Footer.master - used for Publishing Portal, Enterprise Wiki, Product Catalog, Team Site, Blog, Developer Site, Project Site, Community Site, Document Center, Records Center, Business Intelligence Center, Enterprise Search Center, Basic Search Center, and Visio Project Repository.
  2. 002_MT-Mysite.master - used for My Site Host (Personal Sites).
  3. seattle.master - used for Community Portal (located under Community Portal in your extracted zip file).

To apply the 002 MT Custom Look to subsites of Community Portal:

  1. Make sure you installed the 002 MT Custom Look for Community Portal (top-level site): Installation of 002 MT Custom Look for Community Portal
  2. IMPORTANT:
Do not change the master page for your top-level site in your Community Portal (use only seattle.master). You will need to apply different master pages for your subsites of your Community Portal, according to your subsite's type (see "The subsequent Master Pages..." section above).

  3. Follow instructions Applying a Custom Look to Subsites on SharePoint 2013 / Office 365.
  4. IMPORTANT:
If you decide to activate the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure on your Community Portal after the Design Package (002_MT-Community-Portal_Global_PLT.wsp, or 002_MT-Community-Portal_Virtual_PLT.wsp) has been activated, you will need to activate the Design Package again after enabling the Publishing Infrastructure.

Reactivation of the Design Package may create an extra 002 MT composed look that you can remove form Composed Looks list (go to Site Settings -> Composed Looks (under Web Design Galleries) -> click edit -> select an extra created 002 MT look -> from the Ribbon Area click Delete Item).
