Installation of Page Layouts for Publishing Sites

You do not have to install master pages, page layouts, and web parts for restored MasterThemes Site Collections.

The following custom page layouts are created for Publishing Sites:

  1. MT-Welcome_3Column.aspx - 3-Column Welcome Page Layout
  2. MT-Welcome_2Column_SBL.aspx - 2-Column Welcome Page Layout with Left Sidebar
  3. MT-Welcome_2Column_SBR.aspx - 2-Column Welcome Page Layout with Right Sidebar

    To install Page Layouts for SharePoint 2019 Publishing Site

  1. Extract YourPackage.zip file.
  2. From your browser open your top-level site (Publishing Site) http://YourSharePointSite -> go to Site Settings -> Page layouts and site templates (under Look and Feel) -> Select Pages in this site can use any layout (Page Layouts section) -> select Reset all subsites to inherit these preferred page layout settings -> click Ok.
  3. Go to Site Settings -> Master pages and page layouts (under Web Designer Galleries).
  4. Under Library Tools, click Documents tab > Upload Document > Upload Multiple Documents...
  5. In the Upload Master Page dialog box, click Browse for files instead, navigate to your extracted YourPackage.zip folder, expand Publishing_Layouts folder and select 3 files: MT-Welcome_3Column.aspx, MT-Welcome_2Column_SBL.aspx, and MT-Welcome_2Column_SBR.aspx.
  6. Upload the files to your top-level Publishing Site's Master Page Gallery.
  7. Edit Properties for MT-Welcome_3Column.aspx.
  8. Specify the following settings for all 3 page layouts:

    Content Type: Page Layout
    Name: MT-Welcome_3Column
    Title: MT Welcome 3-Column
    Description: leave it blank (or provide your description)
    Contact: leave it blank (or enter contact's name or email address)
    Preview Image: Leave it blank
    Type the description: Leave it blank
    Hidden Page: Unchecked
    Associated Content Type: Page Layout Content Types
    Content Type Name: Welcome Page
    Variations: Leave it blank
    Authenticated Cache Profile: (None), or select a desired value
    Anonymous Cache Profile: (None), or select a desired value

  9. Click Save.
  10. Right-click MT-Welcome_3Column.aspx -> Click Check In -> for Version select Major version (publish) -> Click Ok.
  11. Right-click MT-Welcome_3Column.aspx -> Click Publish Major Version -> Click Ok.
  12. Repeat steps 7 - 11 for MT-Welcome_2Column_SBL.aspx, and MT-Welcome_2Column_SBR.aspx.

    To use any Page Layout (including MT Page Layouts):

  1. In your Publishing Site create a New Page (Add a Page).
  2. In the Ribbon Area, select Page tab -> Page Layout -> Select the layout you want to use for your New Page.
