Site Logo

It is highly recommended that you prepare your logo in PNG-24 format. It is also recommended that you resize your logo to 64 pixels in height. Resizing your logo will decrease the image file size/download time to a minimum.

If your logo exceeds 64 pixels in height, the theme will shrink your logo automatically to be 64 pixels in height, constraining image proportions. The width of your logo will vary. The theme itself will not decrease the file size. Your logo may also get an unclear look (jadged edges, etc.).

*IMPORTANT:

  • The canvas size of your logo should be 64 pixels in height.
  • The width of your logo should not exceed 175 pixels.

    *IMPORTANT:
Verify if your logo does not exceed 175 pixels in Width.
  6. Select Image -> Image Size.
  7. If your logo does not exceed 175 pixels in Width, skip steps 8 - 11 below.
  8. If your logo exceeds 175 pixels in Width, enter 175 pixels for Width under Pixel Dimensions and ignore Height (the height will adjust automatically).
  9. Ignore the Document Size field set -> Click Ok.
  10. From the Photoshop menu bar select Image -> Canvas Size.
  11. Enter 64 pixels for Height under New Size -> Click Ok.
  12. From the menu bar go to File -> Save for Web and Devices (and Devices might be not present in your version of Photoshop).
  13. In the Save for Web dialog box you can choose the file format you want to use for your logo:
    • It is highly recommended that you select a PNG-24 option. Check transparency checkbox for multilevel transparency. The advantage of using PNG-24 is that it can preserve up to 256 levels of transparency in an image. If your logo has a drop shadow effect, soft edges, etc., and lays on transparent background, the PNG-24 format is best.
    • Select either GIF or PNG-8 option if your logo has a lot of solid color. For colors, choose Selective/256 or less, and check transparency checkbox if your logo has transparent areas.
    • Select JPG if your image is colorful, and does not need to have transparent areas. Set Quality to High/65, select optimized checkbox.
  14. Click Save.
  15. Upload the saved logo to your site.
  16. To apply your logo to your SharePoint site, go to Site Settings -> Select Title, description, and logo (under Look and Feel).
  17. Under the Insert Logo section, specify URL to point to your new logo -> Click Ok.
