Installation of Text Layouts (Wiki Pages), and Web Part Pages with Predefined Content

Installation of Text Layouts, and Web Part Pages with Predefined Content is optional. To install Text Layouts, and Web Part Pages with predefined content you need to use SharePoint 2013 Management Shell.

The following Text Layouts (Wiki Pages), and Web Part Pages with Predefined Content are designed to be added to any of your current Sites:

  1. Text Layout - Splash Page.aspx - 3-Column page layout, and No Side Navigation - designed for Wiki Welcome Pages
  2. Text Layout - Page A.aspx - 1-Column page layout with Sidebar, and Side Navigation
  3. Text Layout - Page B.aspx - 2-Column page layout, and Side Navigation
  4. Text Layout - Page C.aspx - 2-Column page layout with Header, and Side Navigation
  5. Text Layout - Page D.aspx - 2-Column page layout with Header, Footer, and Side Navigation
  6. Text Layout - Page E.aspx - 3-Column page layout, and Side Navigation
  7. Text Layout - Page F.aspx - 3-Column page layout with Header, and Side Navigation
  8. Text Layout - Page G.aspx - 3-Column page layout with Header, Footer, and Side Navigation
  9. Text Layout - Page H.aspx - 1-Column page layout with Sidebar, and No Side Navigation
  10. Web Part Page SideBar - Left.aspx - 2-Column web part page layout with Left Sidebar

    To add Text Layouts, and Web Part Pages with Predefined Content to any SharePoint site

  1. Navigate to Layouts/Layouts_with_Content folder, and copy the MT-Text_and_Webpart_Layouts.cmp file to your clipboard (Ctrl+C).
  2. Paste the MT-Text_and_Webpart_Layouts.cmp file (Ctrl+V) into Your SharePoint Server (e.g. Your SharePoint Local Disc:\backup\MT-Text_and_Webpart_Layouts.cmp).
  3. Open SharePoint 2013 Management Shell:

    For Windows Server 2008 R2, point to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products -> Click SharePoint 2013 Management Shell.
  4. SharePoint 2013 Management Shell
    For Windows Server 2012, on the Start screen -> click SharePoint 2013 Management Shell.

    If SharePoint 2013 Management Shell is not on the Start screen:
    Right-click Computer -> click All apps -> and then click SharePoint 2013 Management Shell.

  5. In SharePoint 2013 Management Shell type:

    Import-SPWeb -Identity http://YourServer2013 -Path YourSharePoint Server:\Backup\MT-Text_and_Webpart_Layouts.cmp
    (*http://YourServer:2013 is the location of the site you want to add layouts with predefined content)

    *Example (Public URL - http://YourServer:2013)

  6. Press Enter.

    After a few seconds, you should see the message: Log file generated...

    The list of new text layouts, and web part pages with Predefined Content should be added to your Site Pages folder.

  7. Open http://YourServer:2013 in your browser -> Navigate to Site Contents -> Site Pages (under List, Libraries, and other Apps).

  8. Click any of the added files -> Provide edits.
